Free agency is always a gamble. Sometimes it works out in ways that can’t be explained, and some other fizzle out. For the most part, it has been the San Francisco Giants greatest struggle. For some odd reason they can’t figure it out.

To start this two part series, though, we are going to start with the good. While there have been only a few in their long history, or only a few to make a big enough impact, those few have been pretty big. Free agency is always interesting because you never know what exactly will happen, and that is all the fun.

In all honesty, it was hard to do this. A long with the fact that there haven’t been enough free agent signings to make a big impact, it was hard to rank them in an order that made sense.

The Giants have never really been active in free agency. This off-season is the most notable in many years for the team. So it is hard for me to pick because a lot of players were either homegrown, or acquired in a trade. The players listed could have had a short term impact, or a long term impact.

So, here we go, and enjoy.
