Following a trip to the World Series, the team was handed over to Felipe Alou. With a pretty balanced roster, again led by Bonds, with great help from Marquis Grissom and a 17-win Jason Schmidt.
The team won 100 games in the regular season and was primed for another run through the postseason.
But it was not to be as the Marlins tripped them up again, with the Giants only winning one game in the series. A total of 101 wins for the season.
