9. 1987 Giants

When “these kids” came along, the National League West started to take notice. There was an effort put forth that hadn’t been seen in many years. Along with Will Clark and Robby Thompson, the addition during the season of Kevin Mitchell, the lineup was beginning to become imposing.

The team won 90 regular season games, and then 3 more in the NLCS against the St. Louis Cardinals. Unfortunately, they couldn’t win that fourth game in the series, and  ended with 90 wins total.
