5. 2002 Giants

More excruciating than watching the 1993 team lose on its final day, was the 2002 team losing a stranglehold on World Series against the then-Anaheim Angels.

The team won 95 games in the regular season and then another ten more in the playoffs. Bonds led the team again with a .370 batting average with 47 home runs while walking 198 times. Jeff Kent had 37 home runs and the pitching held up for most of the season.

105 wins total, and making it to game seven of the World Series, not a bad team. But it was the first true taste of torture.
