Vin Mazzaro

The Giants picked up Vin Mazzaro on a minor-league deal recently. The former Oakland A’s 3rd rounder, has seen his days of a top prospect come and go. His struggles mainly came from inconsistency while with Oakland, and then becoming just another arm on other teams.

But his 8-2 record in Pittsburgh in 2013, along with his age still make him a possibility to become this season’s hidden gem.

Still just 29, Mazzaro had a 2.81 ERA with the Pirates a couple of years ago. If he is able to regain the form he had, while with a club who plays in a similar Park in PNC, perhaps he heads north with the club in 2016.
