And you thought O.Co was bad?

Dick Dietz

Technically he had one great year, and one decent year. But my dad used to talk about him all the time, so I wanted to get him on this list.

Dick Dietz signed as a free agent in 1960 and didn’t get to the big club until 1966. The catcher had a great season in 1970 becoming an All-Star (his only one), while hitting .300 with 22 home runs and 100 runs batted in.

He would hit 19 more home runs the following year, but hit .252, and wasn’t nearly as effective. He would go to the Dodgers the following year, still on the decline, and then finish out playing 83 games with Atlanta in 1973 before retiring.
