**Tim Lincecum

Tim Lincecum leaving the Giants is one of those very somber things to think about. And it probably wouldn’t feel right if there weren’t any feelings. The man gave all he had, every time out. His value to the team extends beyond the pitcher’s mound. It is also seen in the relationship he has with the coaching staff and fellow teammates. In a perfect world a Giant like Tim Lincecum retires a Giant, and never puts on a different uniform. But this is not a perfect world. And the hope is that, if he is healthy and the Giants don’t have room, Lincecum lands in a great situation, and has an amazing year.

That doesn’t mean that the Giants wouldn’t have made the right decision to let him walk. It was just the right time for both sides to move on.

Either way this goes, Tim Lincecum, you are, have been, and will continue to be a good Giant.
