2014 MLB Draft

The 2014 MLB Draft was highlighted by current Cubs outfielder Kyle Schwarber and Mets outfielder Michael Conforto, who both played in the NLCS just one year after being drafted. Schwarber hit 16 home runs and tallied 43 RBIs in just 69 games. Conforto had a promising rookie campaign himself, hitting for an average of .270 and smacking 9 home runs and 26 RBIs in his 56 games.

San Francisco chose one of the top prospects in RHP Tyler Beede for the 14th overall pick and center fielder Austin Slater out of Stanford University in the 8th Round.
