The World Champion Johnny Cueto may have bought in to the championship culture over in Kansas City, but when all is said and done, Cueto will want to get the big pay check. Cueto’s career has been parallel with Zimmermann’s in that they both have played for mediocre teams throughout their careers, but have been improving with every start.
In his 32 starts this year, Cueto was 11-13 with a 3.44 ERA. More importantly, Cueto threw one of the greatest Royals starts in postseason history in Game 1 of the World Series to give his team a 1-0 edge in the series.
