It is officially confirmed that Greinke will opt out of his player option with the Dodgers and will test the free agency market. Without a doubt, expect the Giants to be heavy suitors in the Greinke race as he has been one of the top pitchers in all of baseball for almost a decade now.
The 12-year veteran won the 2009 AL Cy Young Award with the Royals, is a 3-time All Star, and is one of the top candidates for the NL Cy Young award this year. Snagging Greinke from the Dodgers might feel just that much sweeter.
