#5 Matt Duffy 3B
To the displeasure of all Giants fans, always Giants Iron Man, Hunter Pence, had his incredible 383 consecutive-games-played streak end this year due to a fractured ulna in Spring Training. However, to the surprise of Giants fans, they have a new Iron Man in the name of Matt Duffy.
The “Duff Man” already has more awards and accolades than he every thought he could have imagined after his first full season, but this one might be the most admirable of all. Despite suffering a sprained ankle in a game against the Chicago Cubs on August 27th, Duffy was able to play in every single game this year since officially taking over the starting third baseman role from Casey McGehee on June 30th.
The Giants received everything they could have hoped for in Duffy after losing out on the Pablo Sandoval sweepstakes last November.
