Despite all of the injuries and inconsistencies throughout the past two seasons, San Francisco Giants centerfielder Angel Pagan is playing as well as he ever has here in the month of September. As I mentioned in a previous article, Pagan is playing for a starting role in 2016 and I tip my cap to him for fighting for what he desires.

On the other hand, reports have announced that Pagan’s stellar play in the past month might have came too late and may not be enough to convince the front-office that he is their centerfielder for the 2016 season and beyond. At the same time, it may have been enough for other clubs to believe in the 34-year-old once more. Some notable centerfielders (or players who are capable of manning the position) that will be eligible for free agency this winter include: Yoenis Cespedes, Rajai Davis, Gerardo Parra, Colby Rasmus, Denard Span, and Dexter Fowler. Although all are solid players, besides Cespedes and Span who both will demand a high price, none of these players would be all that much of an upgrade over Pagan.
So, let’s stop looking at free agency for a moment and start searching for alternative options. Here are 5 trades that the San Francisco Giants could pursue throughout the 2015-16 off-season.
