Can “The Beard” make a successful career comeback?

A little late to the party on this one, but word is that Brian Wilson has been working out in hopes of a comeback in 2016. The former Giants closer has sat out all of the 2015 season after being released by the Dodgers in December.

He’s getting up there in years (33), but he did have good strikeout numbers (54 K in 48.1 IP) and some life on his fastball in a lackluster 2014 campaign with L.A.

While a Giants reunion would be a good story—especially if he was working back with fellow 2010 World Series heroes Matt Cain and Tim Lincecum—it’s a little hard to fathom after the reliever’s well-publicized blowup with Larry Baer.

I’d bank on The Beard catching on somewhere, though…he’s too captivating a character not to get a look—even if he only partially resembles his former self.
