Do Giants have a chance with Dodgers’ September swoon?
The Giants playoff odds remain slim-to-none, but with the Dodgers rattling off four-straight losses and having one of their aces shelved for his next start, San Francisco is teasing fans with a final glimmer of hope.
Zach Greinke is not the only Dodger dealing with injuries, and Tuesday’s 8-0 shutout at the hands of the Diamondbacks was shades of the L.A. team we saw earlier this season—one whose immense talent could not overcome its lack of continuity and togetherness.
The Giants will need a lot of things to go right to make this a legitimate race, but Phase 1 of the process is officially in motion.
