San Francisco Giants rumor roundup: Dodgers unraveling, Cespedes/Upton buzz, Lincecum’s velocity and more

The rumor train is picking up steam as the Giants head into the final stretch drive of the regular season.

The big story, of course, is San Francisco’s never-say-die attitude with just a dozen games left to play. The Dodgers still hold a six-game lead in the NL West, but they are showing signs of weakness with the pressure mounting.

One Giant that won’t be contributing to this run is Tim Lincecum, but the former ace could be back to his old self (or at least partially) after season-ending surgery. The latest chatter surrounding his status, potential interest in MLB free agency’s top outfielders, and an update on our old buddy “The Beard” in this edition of the Giants rumor roundup.
