Hudson reminded everyone what he’s capable of Tuesday in the desert, limited Arizona to one run in six innings and helping his own cause with a solo homer in the third. The 40-year-old had not started a game for San Francisco since July.
While Hudson has told reporters this season is his last on several occasions, he’s in line for a couple more September starts before he moves on to the next chapter in his life.
A fitting final chapter in his MLB career would be one last outing in his old stomping grounds: the Oakland Coliseum. The Giants open a three-game against their cross-bay rivals on Aug. 25.
