#2. Marlon Byrd: Get Like Me–by David Banner ft. Chris Brown, Yung Joc, & Jim Jones
Why Marlon Byrd doesn’t walk up to “Surfin Bird” by the Trashmen is beyond me, but at least he picked a good replacement song. Take a look at the first verse of “Get Like Me”:
Stuntin-stuntin is a habit, get like me
Have you ever seen a Chevy with the, get-get like me
Have you ever seen a Chevy with the, get like me
Have you ever seen a Chevy with the butterfly do’s?
Stuntin-stuntin is a habit, put it in the air
Much like Belt’s walk-up song, Byrd’s is cocky and hints to the opposing team that they haven’t faced a man like him. I have always leaned towards the high-energy, confident songs because as Yogi Berra once said, “Baseball is ninety percent mental and the other half is physical.” I have always believed that walk-up songs can make a difference, and I know you may think I am crazy for saying that, but I really do. Swaggy Byrd.
