Update: The Giants have told Arias he will not be a September call-up, according to Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area. The veteran has already gone back to the Dominican Republic to be with his family.

INF: Joaquin Arias (AAA)

Between Arias and Noonan, however, the choice is simple—at least to me. In fact, I’d put Arias over Ehire Adrianza given the way the latter has looked at the plate recently. The veteran isn’t exceptional at anything, but he’s been with the team for years, and won’t give off a deer-in-headlights look every time he steps into the box. Even though he’s off the 40-man roster, I’d expect to see Arias some time in September.
