Demeanor/Teammate:
I will make this one short and sweet because there really isn’t a large separation between the two regarding the integrity and respect for the game that both guys possess. Both Kershaw and Bumgarner are extremely competitive on the mound and neither back down from a challenge. They always want the ball in a crucial game.
Although Bumgarner has been called a “hot head” for his displeasure of bat tosses, it never seems to effect his camaraderie with his teammates or his performance on the mound. As shown by the celebration in the locker room last year after each postseason series victory, the guys in the clubhouse love cowboy Bumgarner and he is their leader.
Kershaw has a calm demeanor himself and has never been involved in too heated of an altercation. Not only is he competitive, but he also has publicly been praised for his urge to win and being a good teammate.
