RHP Samuel Coonrod
After being promoted this season from Rookie Ball in Arizona, Coonrod has had a successful year for the low single-A Augusta GreenJackets. Coonrod was drafted in the 5th round in the 2014 MLB Draft and has been clocked as high as 98 mph.
Through 21 appearances, Coonrod is 6-5 with a 3.31 ERA, and has struck out 97 batters in just over 100 innings pitched. The Illinois-native has struggled with control problems as he has a strikeout-walk ratio (K/BB) of 3.03, which is worrisome.
Coonrod is already 23-years old, but if he can find some control with his lively fastball, he could have his shot in San Francisco in a few years.
