We’ve been here before
And so have they.
The Giants’ core has remained intact between the team’s two most recent World Series championships, and the roster is lined with vets that have a wealth of playoff experience. Of the players that would likely make the team’s 25-man postseason roster, only Chris Heston, Justin Maxwell, Andrew Susac, Josh Osich and Kelby Tomlinson would be going in green.
Bob Nightengale of USA Today Sports recently penned a fantastic column about the importance of clubhouse chemistry. I highly recommend you give it a read, but as you can probably wager, the Giants were one of the most frequently referenced teams.
In the words of Jake Peavy, per Nightengale: “…Nobody wants to talk about the San Francisco Giants, because numbers can’t explain how we won last year.”
Or in 2012 and 2010, might I add. Chemistry through continuity is often the key.
