A possible switch between the Bay Area teams could be a possibility due to the Giants’ unpredictable arms in the bullpen. Mujica has pitched anywhere from the middle reliever role to the closer role for Oakland this year. He has posted a high 5.64 ERA and collected one save in 25 games.

Mujica is best known for his breakout year in 2013, when he took over the closer role and totaled 37 saves to help the Cardinals make the World Series. After being traded once already this year from Boston, Mujica has had a hard time adjusting to his role in Oakland as they have had a disappointing year.

The 31-year-old is in the final year of his two-year, $9.5 million contract.
