  • The 2-time Silver Slugger is hitting .249 with 18 homeruns and 57 RBIs this season. The biggest obstacle in negotiations between San Diego and San Francisco is the fact that teams generally stay away from trading within their division. For obvious reasons, nobody wants to help a division-foe.

Nevertheless, the first-year GM A.J. Preller has been trying to unload Upton as his contract expires after this season. With Pagan struggling in centerfield, San Francisco very well could be searching for an outfielder, as Nori Aoki could move over to play centerfield.
