San Francisco Giants: Top 10 midseason trades in San Francisco era
By Danny Vietti

5. LF Kevin Mitchell
In 1987, left fielder Kevin Mitchell was traded to the Giants as part of a multi-player trade that sent pitchers Dave Dravecky and Craig Lefferts to San Francisco in exchange for third baseman Chris Brown and pitchers Keith Comstock, Mark Davis, and Mark Grant.
Mitchell would win NL MVP honors in 1989 by hitting .291 and leading the MLB in home runs and RBIs with 47 and 125, respectably. Mitchell also helped give the Giants their first World Series appearance in the San Francisco era, but would end up being swept by the Oakland Athletics in the infamous 1989 Earthquake Series.
