2 days and 16 hours remain until the 2015 MLB trade deadline. For obvious reasons, San Francisco Giants fans are on Twitter waiting for ESPN or Fox Sports to tweet out that the team has acquired Cole Hamels, David Price, or even Aroldis Chapman. The fans always want their team to make the trade.

But what about the role players? The guys who become playoff heroes and fan favorites.

Players like 2010 NLCS MVP Cody Ross. Or 2012 NLCS MVP Marco Scutaro. Clearly, the out-of-the-blue, under-appreciated players like these become difference makers and postseason changers. Trades like these are almost impossible to predict, but the need for the Giants to add pitching and a power bat off the bench give us some direction on where Bobby Evans and Brian Sabean could go.

So, who are the dark horses for the reining champs? Who could be the next NLCS MVP? Read on to find out.

Next: Allen Craig
