The Giants just went 0-6 on an East Coast swing, and their depleted outfield is a big reason why. With both Hunter Pence and Nori Aoki on the pine for the foreseeable future and a light-hitting Angel Pagan scuffling (.181 average in June), San Francisco has seen its lineup suffer a serious downturn.

Though the team’s starting pitching is currently in flux, the corner outfield spots represent the team’s biggest weaknesses with the trade deadline less than a month away. The Giants are probably willing to mix and match Gregor Blanco, Justin Maxwell and Brandon Belt until Pence and Aoki get healthy, but adding a starting caliber outfielder as insurance for their Big Three would we wise, particularly given Pagan’s injury history.

Let’s take a look around the league and break down the Giants’ top outfield options.
