Hunter Pence
Update: Wednesday, June 24
Pence is out at least another week, according to Andrew Baggarly:
Bochy: Pence was reevaluated, is out of splint today but no baseball work for another 5-7 days. Giants will have to get by w/o him, Aoki.

Nothing significant to report on Pence’s write other than what I had in my last update. A tweet, for the lazy:
Hunter Pence has been shutdown. Doctors want him in a splint for next 5-6 days to help tendinitis. #sfigiants

Sigh, if only he could…wait, 5-6 days? (Counts on fingers) …Wouldn’t that make Pence’s cast a thing of the past?
It’s hard to put a firm timetable on tendinitis, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see the right fielder kick up his rehab this week, sans splint. For what it’s worth, ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball telecast showed clips of Pence going hard on running and throwing in pre-game drills.
He was also gaming on Monday night, which, knowing Hunter, probably required some dynamic wrist action. No, seriously.
Next: On to Jake Peavy update

Jake Peavy
Who moves aside to make room for Peavy in the rotation—at least in the interim—has been talked about for quite some time. It appears this matter could be resolved as soon as this weekend:
Bochy said it's very possible that Jake Peavy's next start would be against the Rockies next weekend.

He hasn’t been overly impressive through six rehab starts (4.85 ERA), but the 34-year-old was much-improved his last time out, giving up just one run through six innings on Sunday. His strikeout numbers (27 SO in 29 2/3 IP) do indicate that his stuff is where it needs to be, and his command (9 BB) has been good too.
Regardless of how Peavy fairs in his return, the Giants rotation will have to undergo another shakeup with another front-end starter hot on his heels…
