Game 2
Tuesday’s game was almost one of those same damn deal, different damn day sort of things. Or, as Yogi Bera would say: “Deja vu all over again.”
The G-Men led off with Posey doubling to score Panik and Pence. Starting to sound familiar? Are the “Killer P’s” getting the band back together?
The Pirates scored f0ur runs in the third, but the Giants came right back in the bottom of the inning and scored two more on a Brandon Crawford jack to tie it up. The Pirates asked for a review of the call, but it was upheld and Crawford added to his impressive home run and RBI tallies.
Chris Heston took a beating in the third, giving up four earned, and wasn’t able to recover. In an interview after the game Bochy said that getting through rough stretches and learning to shake them off comes with age and experience. He figures Heston will get there. Me too. He’s that good.
The Pirates tacked on another run in the fourth, another in the fifth and yet another in the sixth. The Giants didn’t score again. Not even in the eighth.
Final score: Giants 4, Pirates 7
