McGehee moving on next week?
Casey McGehee has another big date coming up in his tenuous tenure (last one, promise) with the Giants organization. Per Andrew Baggarly, June 5 marks the first day the seven-year veteran can request his unconditional release in order to pursue other opportunities.
Though he got off to slow start with the Rivercats, San Francisco’s former starting third baseman has come on strong of late and is now hitting .292 with a dinger through six games:
GOODBYE! Casey McGehee hits his first home run as a River Cat. #RiverCats now lead 6-4. #ClawsUp

Eat your heart out, Duffman.
In all seriousness, it’s great to see McGehee turning a new leaf in more hitter-friendly confines, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him stick around this summer to get a second chance with his hometown team.
