Barry Bonds back in the news
With his obstruction of justice charge now behind him, the organization’s most polarizing former player is reportedly filing his own suit against MLB, claiming collusion by team owners led to his alleged blackballing back in 2007-08.
Did I say alleged? I meant blatantly obvious. In case you’re wondering just how obvious, Grant Brisbee of McCovey Chronicles breaks down the teams that absolutely should have signed him here.
On a lighter note, Bonds was also recently inducted in the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame alongside his former skipper, Dusty Baker. It’s not Cooperstown, but it’ll have to do for now.
Pablo Sandoval receives his ring
The Panda finally got to collect his hardware with the Red Sox in town to face the A’s. The presentation was a private one, with Bruce Bochy, GM Bobby Evans and CEO Larry Baer visiting Sandoval’s hotel on Monday evening.
Was it a coincidence that none of his teammates were present? Probably not, but he only has himself to blame for that.
Either way, Pablo seemed pretty stoked to collect his third ring in five years.
