Ryan Vogelsong: Replacement options if San Francisco Giants starting pitcher continues to falter

The can-be, but can’t-be, starter: Yusmeiro Petit
Yusmeiro Petit has been far from dominant this season (5.25 ERA), and his starter/reliever splits from last year (5.03/1.84 ERA) clearly indicate that he’s better as the latter.
Even so, wouldn’t he feasibly offer more than Vogelsong as a stopgap starter?
Giants fans seem to think so, but Bochy does not, remaining steadfast in keeping Petit in the ’pen. I’m sure there’s a method to the skipper’s madness, but he might be forced to rethink his approach after another Vogey flop.
After all, the only other pitcher in the system that could excel in the big leagues right now is…
