This special edition of “Cow Tipping” welcomes newly announced infielder Matt Duffy.
For the past few days, I felt like I had been sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the Giants to announce their decision on whether or not they were keeping Matt Duffy or sending him down to the Minors. The decision was between Duffy and Ehire Adrianza.
The Giants like to start off a new season like they end the season: with a twist of drama. If you’ve been a fan long enough, you understand the Giants do not make decisions hastily. Sure enough, after logging onto Twitter today, I learned that infielder Duffy had indeed made the cut.
Duffy ended this year’s Spring Training with 61 AB, 22 H, 3 HR and 15 RBI. He was drafted by the Giants in the 18th round of the 2012 MLB Amateur Draft from Long Beach State His first call-up to the bigs was August 1, 2014.
