San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy was admitted to the hospital on Thursday for chest discomfort. He had stents inserted during his heart procedure, which is much safer than bypass or artery operations. The 59-year old is coming off winning his third championship in five years.
The Giants released this statement:
"Following his physical yesterday, the Giants medical staff was monitoring Bruce Bochy’s heart after he experienced some discomfort. This afternoon, Bruce was admitted to Scottsdale Healthcare Medical Center where doctors performed a medical procedure to insert two stents. He is resting comfortably and will be released tomorrow."
Bochy will likely get back on the field this weekend or when he’s ready.
