Fresno Grizzlies host Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle night

By Melissa Felkins

The long-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles night for the Triple-A Fresno Grizzlies at Chukchansi Park has arrived. The team will wear TMNT themed jerseys on the field tonight as one of the season’s most popular promotion nights.

As for what the jersey will look like, well, you can get a preview right here.

The promotion has gotten national attention, including some props on ESPN 2 from Keith Olbermann on a couple of occasions this season.

The promotion is just one week ahead of the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie release, and for many of us who spent time growing up in the 90s, is just the kind of nostalgic trip down memory lane that makes you downright giddy with happiness. For those going tonight, yes, including me, the first 2,000 fans will get a TMNT lunch pail just like you may have carried when you were a kid.

And, just like any good marketing ploy, of course t-shirt replicas of the jerseys will be available for sale at the game and online. The merchandise will only be available at the stadium this weekend though, so you’ll have to head out or order online quickly.

Hopefully the Grizzlies can send some of their “Turtle Power” up to the San Francisco Giants. As for me, I’ll be just to the first baseside of home plate rocking my Michelangelo shirsey.
