Pregame: San Francisco Giants look for redemption in game two against the Padres

By Denise Walos

The Giants will look for redemption against the Padres at 4:15pm PT at Petco Park in San Diego. Tim Hudson (7-5, 2.59 ERA) will make the start for the Giants and for the Odrisamer Despaigne (2-0, .66 ERA in 13.2 innings) for the Padres.

The Giants are trying to break their three-game losing streak and the Padres five-game winning streak. The Padres have won 10 of their last 15 games.

Here is how Hudson matches up against the Padres offense. Carlos Quentin, who collided with left field wall yesterday, is not in the Padres’ starting lineup today.

Gregor Blanco and Joe Panik will start against the LHP today in place of Joaquin Arias and Juan Perez who started yesterday.

Despaigne makes his third Major League start for the Padres today and has had success so far in the majors with an impressive .66 ERA.  In 2014 in the minors, he went 1-3 with a 6.03 ERA. We’ll see how he matches up against the Giants today.
