The Giants will look to split the two game series with a win today with veteran Tim Hudson (7-2, 1.81 ERA) on the mound for the Giants against White Sox ace LHP Chris Sale (5-1. 1.97 ERA) at 11:10am PT.

Hudson is leading the MLB with the lowest starting pitcher ERA at 1.81 but the White Sox have hit well off him in the past (.320). And this doesn’t include slugger Jose Abreu, who is having a fantastic first season with the Sox. But Hudson is pitching better than he ever has in his career so we’ll see how the match up is today.

Sale has only faced Gregor Blanco and Michael Morse in the past and both have hit well off him in the past. Sale has a 1.00 ERA when facing NL hitters.

Since the Giants are playing at an American League ballpark, Michael Morse will be DH today. Buster Posey will be behind the plate after Hector Sanchez was hit hard last night in the mask by a foul ball.

It’s started raining in Chicago, hopefully there is no delay although the Giants do have a day off tomorrow, traveling to Arizona for the weekend series.

In other news, Angel Pagan isn’t with the team, he’s in Arizona getting more tests done on his back.

Brandon Belt is having a successful rehab so far.
