Pre-game & lineups: Tim Lincecum faces Zack Wheeler looking to sweep Mets

By Denise Walos

The San Francisco Giants look to sweep the New York Mets today with Tim Lincecum (4-4, 5.01 ERA) facing Zack Wheeler (2-5, 3.89 ERA). The Giants drafted Wheeler in the 2009 MLB Draft as the sixth overall pick. He was traded to the Mets in 2011 for Carlos Beltran.

Lincecum is looking to bounce back from a rough start in Cincinnati on June 3, when he allowed 8 ERs in 4.1 innings, inflating his ERA from a 4.18 to 5.01. Here is how Lincecum has matched up against the Mets offense in the past. Buster Posey and Angel Pagan get the day off today, with Gregor Blanco starting in center field and Hector Sanchez behind the plate. Bochy said it’s nothing to worry about, they’re just being cautious after playing a late game yesterday.
