San Francisco Giants Vs. Colorado Rockies

The San Francisco Giants will play their last game in Scottsdale today against the Colorado Rockies at 1:05pm PT. They head back to the bay tomorrow and will play three exhibition games against the Athletics. The first two on Thursday and Friday will be at AT&T Park and Saturday’s game will be at Oakland Coliseum.

Matt Cain will face the Rockies opening day starter Jorge De La Rosa. Cain started out well in spring training but now holds a 5.91 ERA in 10.2 innings pitched. In his last start against the Athletics on March 15, he allowed 7 ERs and 2 HRs. He pitched a minor league game last week, missing a start with the Giants to work on his mechanics.

Pablo Sandoval gets the day off today, apparently he has an abrasion on his hand, nothing serious.

Sandoval (hand abrasion) already had a scheduled day off. Bochy clearly is serious about giving Morse a look as the No.2 hitter.

Buster Posey was just scratched from today’s game. According to Alex Pavlovic, he has hamstring tightness but it is nothing serious.

It’s now official, Marco Scutaro will start the season on the DL.

Scutaro just gave an update. Nerve block didn't work so he got cortisone in a lower spot. Expects to start year on DL.
