The San Francisco Giants will be facing the Chicago Cubs today in Scottsdale. They’ll also be facing some old friends and teammates: Nate Schierholtz, Eli Whiteside, and Jonathan Sanchez, all former Giants, are all slated to play in today’s game. In fact, all three of those players were part of the 2010 World Series Championship with the Giants. Schiertholtz also played with the Giants during part of the year in the 2012 World Series, so that makes two World Series rings from the Giants for him.
Here are today’s lineups.
San Francisco Giants Lineup
No Bonds but Kale Power is back: Blanco CF, Morse LF, Belt 1B, Pence RF, Sandoval 3B, Abreu 2B, Sanchez C, Crawford SS, Cain P. #SFGiants

The good news here is that hopefully whatever slight pain Pence and Morse were having is gone, as they are both back in the lineup. I have to admit though, I’m disappointed Buster Posey and Angel Pagan isn’t in the lineup today, as we’d potentially have the everyday starting lineup (sans Marco Scutaro, who is very unlikely to be ready by Opening Day).
Chicago Cubs Lineup
While it looks like Samardzija is schedule to start the game, Sanchez is indeed scheduled to pitch today, per Alex Pavlovic.
Forget Bonds, Cubs are coming here with Schierholtz and Whiteside in the starting lineup and Jonathan Sanchez is scheduled to pitch!

Speaking of Barry Bonds, if you missed the Morning Commute or anything on Twitter, he’s back in the clubhouse today, beginning his assignment as special hitting instructor for Spring Training. He also apparently went on the Pablo Sandoval diet, too.
Barry Bonds walked into coaches room. So far seems friendlier and a tad thinner than before.

And Andrew Baggarly is on full-steam with the snark early this morning.
Barry Bonds is in the clubhouse, shaking hands. No sign of Greg Anderson, though.
