Pre-Game And Lineups For Angels At Giants 3/5

The Angels head to Scottsdale today to play the Giants. This is the first of three games between the two teams in Spring Training. They do not play each other in the regular season. That is, unless they meet in the World Series.

Matt Cain will get his first start of the spring after the Cubs game was rained out last Saturday. Pagan, Belt and Posey get the day off in favor of Blanco, Minicozzi and Sanchez. Mark Minicozzi has hit one of the Giants 3 home runs so far this spring and holds a .600 batting average in his 5 ABs this spring.

Jered Weaver will start for the Angels in his second start of the spring after pitching three scoreless frames against the Cubs on Friday. Angels’ slugger Albert Pujols is in the lineup for the Angels. He missed the last two months of the 2013 season after surgery to repair a torn plantar fascia.
