The Giants will head to Salt River Fields at Talking Stick in Scottsdale to take on the Rockies this afternoon at 1:10pm MT/12:10pm PT.

Madison Bumgarner will make his second start of the spring today after tossing two scoreless innings against the Brewers on February 28. Edwin Escobar will also pitch today for the second time this spring after pitching two shutout innings against the Athletics on February 28.

Morse, Pence, Sandoval, Crawford get the day off in favor of Perez, Colvin, Duvall, Noonan and Adrianza. It’s starting to look like a battle for a backup infield position with the absence of Marco Scutaro so far this spring. Brandon Belt is also back in the lineup after taking two days off because of a stiff neck.

Juan Nicasio will make his Spring Training debut for the Rockies today. You may remember him 2011, while pitching in a game against the Washington Nationals, Nicasio was struck in the head by a line drive off the bat of Nationals’ Ian Desmond, fractured a vertebrae in his neck. This is an incident that the MLB still references in regards to protecting pitchers on the mound. Nicasio had knee surgery in 2012 and spent 2013 in AAA and is looking to make a comeback in 2014.

Lineups:

Sergio Romo and Michael Morse are having fun playing this morning on Twitter before the game.
