The Face of MLB contest has returned to the Bay Area this week. This time, it’s Buster Posey vs. Eric Sogard. That’s right, Eric Sogard. Posey should be killing him right now, but he’s not. As of 8:00am this morning, it’s Posey 31% to Sogards 69%.
Now, the A’s and their Fansided site, Swingin A’s have been talking a lot of smack about Posey since this contest launched. They were all about voting for Jose Altuve, just to beat Posey.

The solution? Shut them up by voting Buster Posey the Face of MLB over Sogard. I mean, good grief. Can you imagine if a player like Sogard beat Posey? Those chumps would never shut up about it. But beside that, Posey is the obvious choice here.
Buster Posey
- 2x World Series Champion
- NL MVP
- 2x All-Star
- NL Batting Champion
- NL Hank Aaron Award
- Silver Slugger Award
- NL Comeback Player of the Year
- NL Rookie of the Year
- Golden Spikes Award
Eric Sogard
- He has a Wikipedia page (this actually surprised me a bit)
We’re Giants fans. Are we seriously going to let the actual face of baseball get beat by a no name from across the Bay?
Don’t get me wrong. I actually like the A’s. But they started it, so I figure we can have a little fun with them today.
Here’s how to vote: Go to Twitter. Tweet this: “I vote #BusterPosey as the #FaceOfMLB” The main thing is to get those two hashtags in there. You can vote up to 25 times per account until 5am tomorrow. By the way, it’s easy to create new accounts on Twitter.
