Worst bullpen in baseball?
Do the Giants have the worst bullpen in baseball? Fangraph thinks so. We’ll probably break this down more as things go on. I read this article last week, and I feel similar to Grant over at McCovey Chronicles. Sure, I can admit I’d like to add someone a bit more consistent, but worst in baseball? Not quite. Here’s what Grant has to say:
"When I think about Romo/Casilla/Lopez/Affeldt, I don’t start punching walls. When Affeldt’s right, getting grounders and annoying righties and lefties alike, he’s just about my favorite reliever on the team — durable, effective, and practical. I’m a little worried about Casilla’s strikeout dip last year, but I’m okay thinking it’s a sample issue, considering his velocity after his injury was about the same as it was in 2011 and 2012. Lopez is Lopez, Romo is Romo, and I trust them both."
Scott Boras gets mad
Well known gangster sports agent Scott Boras is not happy with MLB over the PED issue, and made it known on Fox Sports. Basically, he believes if MLB is going to go after the players, they should also be going after the distributors. Makes sense. Ken Rosenthal has the story.
"“The integrity of the game is only partially served when a known pusher is exonerated, when the genesis of this entire problem is now given a forum and compensation and is not behind bars for the distribution and promoting the use of illegal drugs, not only to baseball players but all members of the sporting community and youth,” Boras said."
