Juan Perez made his big league debut on June 9, 2013 against the Arizona Diamondbacks. He did not have to wait long for some big league action. In the bottom of the first, Paul Goldschmidt came up to bat with two outs and no one on base. He hit a long ball that looked like it was on it’s way to the pool, or extra bases at the very least. Perez looked like he didn’t have much of a shot at it, but he showed Giants fans, and Goldschmidt just what he could do on the defensive side of the field. He made the running catch, ran into the wall, and stayed down long enough to make you wonder if it would be the last time he attempted such a play. He got the out, and he got up on his own accord before trotting back to the dugout to be congratulated by his teammates.
