The winners of the Gibby Awards (Greatness in Baseball Yearly) were just announced on MLB and Tim Lincecum won for “Pitching Performance of the Year.”

Lincecum’s no-hitter received 19% of the votes, beating out Yu Davish’s almost perfect game (16.8%) and Homer Bailey’s no-hitter (12.2%).

Timmy’s no-hitter came on July 13, 2013 at San Diego where he pitched nine innings with 0 ER, 4 walks, and 13 strikeouts. There were 29 swing and misses, which was a record for the most in a no-hitter since Randy Johnson’s in 2000.

Hunter Pence was also up for “Play of the Year” with the diving catch in right field in the 8th inning to preserve Lincecum’s no-hitter. He finished in third place with 8.3% of the votes behind Manny Machado’s throw from foul territory (1st place) and Carlos Gomez’s game-saving catch (2nd place).
