Peguero will be reunited with former Giant Johnny Monell who was traded to the Orioles for cash last week.
The 25-year-old outfielder held a .188 batting average in 16 plate appearances in the 2013 season. The Giants played their final game of the season on September 29, 2013 against the Padres and were losing 5-6 when Peguero hit a home run in the 9th inning off Huston Street to tie the game. It was his only home run of the season. The Giants won the final game of the 2013 season with a Hunter Pence walk-off.
Peguero dominated the minor leagues in 2013 in AAA Fresno, batting .316 in 288 plate appearances. He is mainly a right fielder but can easily play center field or left field.
