Chad Gaudin Forgotten

I brought up Chad Gaudin on the Around the Foghorn podcast on Friday. I haven’t heard a word about him since he went on the DL with carpal tunnel syndrome on August 20, 2013. It was a strange injury that he never came back from, not even when rosters expanded on September 1.
Gaudin is now a free agent after having an amazing 2013 season going 5-2 with a 3.06 ERA. He stepped in when Vogelsong went on the DL and became one of the Giants most reliable pitchers. So why haven’t we heard a word about re-signing him, even as a long reliever?
I did a search on Twitter and couldn’t find much of anything. Just other people asking the same questions I am.
@AlexPavlovic why wasn't Chad Gaudin not considered as a starter?

Personally I would have been more comfortable with #ChadGaudin - who I know they probably wont resign as a Reliever but REALLY SHOULD

@LC_uIn16 I’d say long relief/spot starter; note that Chad Gaudin’s name has been glaringly absent in signing discussions. #SFGiants

@hankschulman what's the story with chad gaudin, isn't he a decent 5th starter option? Can be signed cheaply, throws strikes, great 2013

In July, a story came out that Gaudin was reportedly charged with open and gross lewdness by the Clark County District Attorney’s office in Las Vegas following a sexual incident with a woman at a hospital on January 27, 2013. The Giants and Gaudin never commented on the incident after that date.
Is carpal tunnel really the injury that kept him from playing the month of September or is there more to the story? I would’ve liked to see Gaudin back with the Giants in 2014, maybe there is a still a deal to be made.
By the way, Chad Gaudin said this afternoon he wants to re-sign with the #sfgiants and stay a few years.
