Javier Lopez and Giants Finalize Three-Year Deal
By Ken Lucchesi

Javier Lopez passed his requisite physical today, sealing the deal on his three-year, $13 Million contract with the Giants.
To make room for Lopez on the the 40-man roster, the Giants let go of Jose Mijares. With Mijares as a free agent, there is speculation that Mike Kickham may step in as a left-handed reliever. With Kickham already on the 40-man roster, there would be no need to make additional roster changes. And, Kickham looked more prepared to be a major league reliever rather than a starter in his 2013 debut.
We’ll see how things pan out with Kickham, but Giants fans can rest assured that we have the best lefty specialist in the major leagues secured with Javi Lopez for three more years!
