Javier Lopez Re-Signs With Giants For 3 Yrs/$13MM

It’s finally official, Javier Lopez has re-signed with the Giants for three years/$13 MMM. Deal is pending a physical and the Giants must DFA someone on the 40-man roster to make room for Lopez.

The Giants are full at 40, so they'll have to subtract someone else (Mijares?) when they finalize Lopez deal.

An overpaid left handed reliever? Don’t think so, the stats say it all.
How good is Javier Lopez? He has allowed 1 home run against left-handed hitters in the last 3 seasons. That's 299 at-bats. #SFGiants

My favorite Javier Lopez stat: In three-plus years as a Giant, he’s faced 605 batters and allowed just two home runs.

Lopez is 27-13 with a 3.64 ERA over the last 11 years and is 14-4 with a 2.26 ERA with the Giants in the last four seasons. Left-handed batters are only batting .156 when facing Lopez. The Giants have also won two World Series with him.
