Top 10 Homeruns Of 2013 For San Francisco Giants – Number 2 Hunter Pence

By Alex Pettitt

Hunter Pence…four words: 476 Feet in Distance. That is 476 FEET. That’s ridiculous! That’s over one and one-half times the length of a football field.

This was the longest home run hit by any San Francisco Giant player. It was the longest home run for 12 Days when Evan Gattis hit one 10 feet further. It was a majestic home run that stayed fair down the left field line and hit a building on the concourse. Technically, the ball never landed. Newton’s laws of physics had to come into play before the ball even hit the ground. This could easily be the top home run of the season but, believe it or not there was one that was even better.

Yusmeiro Petit pitched well during the game, going six innings with 6 Hits, 3 walks and 2 earned runs. The Giants were able to cruise to victory with the home run by Pence that set the tone for the game. As Dwayne Kuiper stated he got both cheeks in that swing. It looks like Hunter Pence has a knack for hitting long Home Runs. He hit 17 of his 27 home runs this year were over 400 feet.
